Who is Canterbury?

Established in 1993, Canterbury consists of 194 homes nestled on the eastern side of Lee's Summit, Missouri. We are located near 2 elementary schools (Highland Park,Richardson), 2 parks (Canterbury Park, Legacy Park), Fire Station #6 and the Lee's Summit Hospital. It has easy access to nearby Highway 50, but far enough away to avoid heavy traffic and highway noise.

Canterbury is located on the East side of Lee's Summit with easy access to Legacy Park, Elementary Schools, nearby lakes and wildlife and much, much more.

Members of Canterbury enjoy a central swimming pool, community fishing pond as well as lots of green space. Canterbury Park, which borders the southern end of Canterbury, was donated by Canterbury to the city of Lee's Summit and is used often by residents to enjoy outdoors.

Canterbury enjoys a broad spectrum of members ranging from young families to folks enjoying their retirement years. Many members have lived here since the inception of Canterbury, allowing for good neighborhood stability while also welcoming in a good number of new friends.

Canterbury schedules multiple community events including Fourth of July kids parade, Block parties, Canterbury garage sales and several other community-building activities.

Located just north of Canterbury is Legacy Park, a sprawling area that has a community center with gym memberships, an outdoor amphitheater with summer concerts, 22-acre lake for fishing, canoeing and paddle boats, a large complex of baseball, football and soccer fields, a disc-golf course and a 4.7 mile walking & riding trails. it also hosts a rather impressive July Fourth fireworks extravaganza each year.

Dues are paid on an annual basis by April 1 each year. There is no transfer or initiation fee for new neighbors moving in. 2022 dues are currently $315. However, there will be an expected 5% annual increase to these dues over the next few years.
